Afghan Taliban say capture key border crossing with Iran – Times of India

KABUL: The Taliban mentioned on Friday they’d captured Afghanistan‘s greatest border crossing with Iran, because the insurgents continued a blistering offensive throughout the nation.
“The port of Islam Qala is now underneath our full management and we are going to attempt to put it again in operation at this time,” Zabihullah Mujahid, a spokesman for the insurgents, advised AFP.
There was no quick affirmation of the border crossing’s fall from the federal government, and the Taliban’s declare couldn’t be independently verified.
Islam Qala is one of the foremost ports in Afghanistan, by which Kabul conducts most of its official commerce with Iran.
It is the second key border crossing the insurgents have captured since they launched a sweeping offensive in early May as US-led international forces started their ultimate withdrawal.
Last month the Taliban captured Shir Khan Bandar, Afghanistan’s primary border crossing with Tajikistan, after fierce combating that noticed lots of of Afghan troops flee over to the neighbouring nation.
