A New York man and a Maine lady are dealing with prices over cocaine disguised as a cake that was seized from their vehicle, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency mentioned Wednesday.
Acting on a tip, police stopped the automotive on Interstate 295 in Gardiner on Tuesday, and a drug-sniffing canine discovered 4 kilos (2 kilograms) of cocaine price $200,000 on the road, the MDEA mentioned. Also seized was $1,900 in money.
About 2 kilos of the cocaine was disguised as a marble cake with espresso grounds used to cowl up the scent, officers mentioned.
The two have been launched on bail and have been anticipated in court docket on Wednesday. It was unknown if that they had a lawyer.
Agents consider the medication have been to be distributed in Kennebec and Somerset counties. The MDEA was assisted in the investigation by the Winslow Police Department, Maine State Police, and Homeland Security Investigations.
