EC cuts Himanta Biswa Sarma’s campaign ban in half | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI/ GUWAHATI: Granting reduction to Assam minister and senior BJP chief Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Election Commission lowered his campaign ban from 48 hours to 24 hours on Saturday after he tendered an unconditional apology to the fee and warranted to abide by the mannequin code of conduct in the long run.
The lowered ban interval ended at 6.30 pm on Saturday and the BJP star campaigner was again on the streets of Guwahati main tons of of supporters in a highway present for AGP candidate Ramendra Narayan Kalita in Guwahati West constituency. “I was campaigning in Kokrajhar last night when the EC order came. I have had good three hours of sleep after so many months,” Sarma mentioned.
