Israel military strikes Hamas after launch of fire balloons – Times of India


RAMALLAH, West Bank: Israeli warplanes struck two targets within the Gaza Strip early Saturday, the Israeli military stated, in response to incendiary balloons launched from Gaza into Israel.
The Israeli military struck what it stated was a Hamas military compound and a rocket launching website after 4 incendiary balloons have been launched into Israel, setting fire to land and damaging agriculture. There have been no reviews of casualties in Israel or Gaza.
There was no instant remark from Hamas.
Israeli media reported that 4 fires brought on by incendiary balloons broke out Friday afternoon in areas near the Gaza Strip.
The launch of the balloons comes over two months after an 11-day battle between Israel and Hamas, the fourth because the militant group seized energy in Gaza in 2007.
Hamas is upset that Israel has carried out little to ease a crippling blockade on the territory because the combating ended and seems to be utilizing incendiary balloons as a stress tactic. Israel’s new prime minister, Naflati Bennet, has in contrast the balloon launches to rocket fire.
