PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday requested the Centre to take a lesson out of Afghanistan the place the Taliban seized energy and made the US flee, and urged the federal government to carry dialogue in Jammu and Kashmir and return its particular standing which was revoked in 2019.

She stated America talked to the Taliban and the earlier governments in New Delhi, together with the BJP authorities led by AB Vajpayee, additionally talked to terrorists in J-Ok and “a time will come when they will bend on their knees and ask us what we want”.
“The US talked to the Taliban, India talked to Pakistan and a ceasefire happened. There is no other option but to talk. “The Congress had joined J&Ok with India on these circumstances. Had the BJP been there, then I don’t suppose J&Ok would have been part of this nation,” she said.
On the criticism that she did not talk about Article 370 at a virtual meet of 19 opposition parties called by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Friday, Ms Mehbooba said she talked about the issue and noted that it was the duty of the Congress to safeguard the people of J&K and see their situation and understand difficulties.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP president Ravinder Raina lashed out at Ms Mehbooba for her remarks, and said she “is beneath some false impression. Congress spokesperson Jaiveer Shergill also condemned her remarks.
“Mehbooba Mufti quoted speech is very condemnable & provocative . Rather than preaching peace, exposing Govt on coverage points in case your politics requires you to threaten the institution with violent penalties then clearly you might be steering to fallacious path-Sad & Shameful,” Mr Shergill stated.
