NIA searches Maoist ‘front outfits’, activists in Telangana & Andhra Pradesh | India News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: As half of the probe into the alleged Munchingput Maoist conspiracy case, the NIA on Wednesday carried out searches at seven places in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Searches have been carried out on alleged entrance organisations, rights activists and Maoist sympathisersin Hyderabad in Telangana and Visakhapatnam, Guntur, Rajahmundry, Kurnool, Kadapa and Prakasam in Andhra Pradesh.
On November 23 final yr, Munchingput police (Visakhapatnam Rural in AP) had intercepted one Pangi Naganna who was travelling on his bike in direction of Basuput. They had accused him of working for Maoist Andhra-Odisha Border particular zonal committee.
On interrogation, Naganna had reportedly confessed that he had been working as a journalist and passing on details about police motion to Maoists.
