NEW DELHI: In a milestone achievement, the full quantity of Covid-19 vaccine doses administered in India has crossed 117 crore, knowledgeable the Central Government on Tuesday.
“India has administered greater than 117 crore Covid vaccines below the world’s largest vaccine drive so far,” the Government of India stated in a tweet.
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Monday, greater than 63 lakh (63,98,165) vaccine doses had been administered to the beneficiaries until 7 pm on Monday, it stated, including that the every day vaccination tally is prone to enhance with the compilation of the ultimate studies by late night time.
The countrywide vaccination drive was rolled out on January 16 with the healthcare workers (HCWs) getting inoculated in the primary part and the drive for frontline staff (FLWs) started from February 2.
The second part of Covid-19 vaccination commenced from March 1 for folks over 60 years of age.
The authorities began the vaccination for all folks aged above 45 years from April 1 and the vaccination for everybody above 18 years of age commenced from May 1.
The vaccination drive has been ramped up via the provision of extra vaccines, superior visibility of vaccine availability to States and UTs for enabling higher planning by them and streamlining the vaccine provide chain.
As half of the nationwide vaccination drive, the Central authorities has been supporting the states and UTs by offering them COVID Vaccines free of value.
