Pakistan keeps on making efforts to create disturbances in Punjab: State DGP | India News – Times of India


BATHINDA: In a tribute to those that laid down their lives for sovereignty of the nation, the police martyr memorial has been arrange at Barnala. Punjab director normal of police Dinkar Gupta on Friday night inaugurated the memorial constructed at senior superintendent of police workplace at Barnala.
27 police personnel had been martyred in district Barnala whereas 1800 personnel laid down their lives throughout the terrorism period in Punjab, which continued for almost 15 turbulent years.
Recalling the powerful occasions DGP Dinkar Gupta stated that Punjab being the border state had to face inside and exterior forces bent upon inflicting disturbances in the state. Punjab shares a 550 kilometre lengthy border with Pakistan, which continues to make efforts to foment hassle in the state. Under such circumstances Punjab police personnel from DIG to residence guards and SPOs got here ahead in making supreme sacrifices to save the state from disintegrating and authenticated the saying that Punjabis are all the time on the forefront in making sacrifices.”
Accompanied by Patiala Range DIG Vikram Jeet Duggal, the DGP further said that we never see such sacrifices by police of any state or even country as shown by the Punjab police personnel. I am the direct witness to it as when I joined the Indian police service in 1987 the state was passing through the dark phase. When we went into villages to conduct raids I have seen my own security guards being gunned down but despite that many did not fear bullets. It is because of such bravery of the police personnel that Punjab saw the peace returning to the state. I bow before such sacrifices made by the personnel while Punjab was facing shed blood.
Barnala senior superintendent of police Sandeep Goel said that the memorial is dedicated to 27 personnel who laid down lives for the unity and integrity of the country.
