Swachh Survekshan Awards: Indore adjudged India’s cleanest metropolis, 5th time in a row | India News – Times of India


NEW DELHI: Indore in Madhya Pradesh has retained high place as India’s cleanest metropolis in the Swachh Survekshan Awards 2021. The metropolis has now been voted the cleanest in India for 5 occasions in a row.
Surat and Vijaywada bagged the 2nd and third spots respectively on the sixth Swachh Survekshan Awards introduced on Saturday.
While Surat has held on to its place from final 12 months, Vijaywada displaced navi Mumbai to seize third spot.
Chhattisgarh has been awarded the cleanest state for thrid 12 months in a row.
Top three spots for cities with beneath-1 lakh inhabitants went to Vita, Lonawala and Saswad- all from Maharashtra.
In different classes, Varanasi gained the award for the cleanest Ganga city, whereas Ahmedabad cantonment was adjudged the cleanest cantonment in the nation.
