taliban: Russia says Taliban confirms it will join Moscow talks next week – Times of India


MOSCOW: Representatives of the Taliban have confirmed they will participate in talks on Afghanistan in Moscow next week, President Vladimir Putin‘s particular consultant on Afghanistan mentioned on Friday.
The official, Zamir Kabulov, mentioned in feedback revealed by Russian information companies that the Taliban had confirmed their attendance on the talks next Wednesday however had but to announce the members of their delegation.
Moscow hosted a world convention on Afghanistan in March at which Russia, the United States, China and Pakistan launched a joint assertion calling on the then-warring Afghan sides to succeed in a peace deal and curb violence.
Since then, the United States and its allies have withdrawn their troops after 20 years on the bottom, the Taliban has seized energy and the earlier authorities has collapsed.
Russia is now frightened in regards to the potential for fallout within the wider area and the chance of Islamist militants infiltrating the previous Soviet republics of Central Asia, which Moscow views as its southern defensive buffer.
