Woman Riding Pillion Forced To Take Off Hijab In Madhya Pradesh

Visuals present individuals taking off her hijab whereas the girl protested, visibly crying.

Bhopal:

A lady driving pillion on a scooter was pressured to take away her hijab by some individuals in Bhopal on Saturday, which led to widespread criticism on social media. According to studies, the girl was driving pillion with a person when some individuals stopped them on a slender avenue in Bhopal’s Islam Nagar and requested her to take away the hijab that she was sporting.

Visuals present the individuals taking off her hijab whereas she protested, visibly crying. A person can also be heard within the video telling the girl that she was a “disgrace” to the neighborhood.

The police stated the individuals who had gathered there suspected the girl was with a Hindu man, in order that they pressured the scooter to cease.

No police case has been filed. Two of the boys who have been seen stopping the scooter have been detained and let off after a warning to not repeat the act.

“A man and the woman came to Islam Nagar in the afternoon. Some people stopped them and asked her to take off her hijab and show her face. It is suspected that the people believed the man was Hindu and the girl Muslim,” police officer RS Verma instructed information company PTI.

“No case has been registered but preventive action has been taken against the two men seen in the video, who were let off with a warning to not repeat such an act,” Mr Verma stated.

Last month, two individuals have been arrested in Bengaluru in a case of ethical policing after a video confirmed them assaulting a financial institution worker for having a Muslim lady colleague experience pillion on his motorbike.
